My personal experience with many contractors is that they don’t show up on time and their quotes are always dishonest. Low ball rates his low ball that and we pay more in the end . Frankly, when I met Mitchell, he showed up time and was very professional. We discussed the work scope and agreed on a price with a hand shake. What ever happened to handshake agreements.!Nevertheless Mitchell showed up on time and completed the work on schedule. I would work with Mitchell any time as he is an honest and trustworthy man. We had wanted to fill our 18'x32' in ground pool and started to make plans the year before. Scott gave me a very reasonable quote and this year, when we were ready to make it happen, Mitch came onsite to do a full assessment and review. Mitch and crew were able to schedule us in quickly, helped us with the necessary paperwork for the permits, arrived on time and got the job done as discussed! Scott and his son did a fantastic job at removing our in-ground pool this August. Scott had a plan on how to properly fill in the hole left by the pool so that the ground wouldn't sink and gave us an accurate estimate. He also gave us great advice on other things he could do for us while he was here (we had him clear out the underbrush under the trees behind the pool, too, and I'm very glad we did). Professional with a great work ethic, no unexpected costs, I would recommend Scott to anyone needing his excavation services.

Hired Scott's Mini Excavation (SME) from a referral from my neighbour who had seen some of their work (my neighbour was in construction). He said SME did a great job and their quote was much less than their competitors.I contacted Scott and within the week (like he said) he came by to quote the job, demo concrete driveway, remove concrete and grade to elevation. His quote was very reasonable and we set a date for the work. The demo work started and Scott said that he wouldn't have to remove as much material as he had thought and offered to reduce the invoice. It was nice to hear that the job would less, since in construction its typically more.I was very impressed with Scott's integrity. He could have said nothing and charged me the higher price, but he didn't.Scott work's with his son and his best friend. They are very polite and professional. They did a great job and made sure that I was happy before they left. I would highly recommend SME.

When a routine hydro upgrade went awry, I called Scott. Having never used excavation services, Scott was responsive, patient and reassuring. He rearranged his schedule so he could show up at my house as quickly as possible. He very carefully excavated my yard in search of a buried damaged hydro line. At one point he literally climbed down into an extremely deep, wet trench to hand dig out the area. His low key confidence, professionalism and smile totally put my mind at ease during an extremely stressful situation. Scott was attentive - he followed up several times to get status updates and find out when he was needed on the job site next. This is the only call you need to make should you need excavation services, emergency or otherwise. I will recommend him to anyone who asks, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again should we need excavation services again (though I hope we have no further emergency digs in our future 😆).

Scott and his son Mitch went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and over the summer helped us create our “dream” backyard-istry!• We had their breaker remove old patio, walkway and the excavator to remove a large tree, clearing the site for new concrete.• They also trenched for installation of 4” pvc piping for 2 existing catch basins and added a 3rd one to greatly improve a previous driveway drainage issue.• Mitch is very skilled and detail-oriented and was exceptionally talented at assisting in the construction of a large terraced blast rock wall and basalt rock stairs.• Mitch also prepared another area onsite for a flagstone patio installation. He trucked in and assisted in installation of ¾ crush for patio base as well as 3 rock pits on the project.• We also had Scott and Mitch truck out green waste and old sod, truck in road base to prepare for concrete; truck in garden soil for lawns and garden beds and assist in placing soil and grading site.We would not hesitate to hire Scott and Mitch again and would highly recommend Scott’s Mini Excavation & Breaking! We had a large cedar tree removed and stump ground by another company. Unfortunately the area was still unusable. We hired Scott to dig out the area so we could extend our paver patio. Took a little extra work than we expected. The very large root was removed, road base filled, leveled and the area was done right making a solid base to install a new patio. We also had Scott remove our old sod, dirt and level our yard with great top soil. The next day we installed new sod. We now have a beautiful backyard !! Scott handled everything professionally and in a very timely manner!

Our strata complex had to remove about 120 linear feet of cedar hedging. Scott and Mitch rolled up in their brand new tandem dump truck with a mini excavator in tow. After minimal instruction they got to work. Mitch made the job look effortless and was even kind enough to do some additional breaking and trenching at NO ADDITONAL CHARGE. They finished the job in great time, loaded and disposed of all the old hedging and left the effected areas clean and neat.I deal with a lot of contractors and I have to tell you that dealing with this company was one of the most positive, easy, well priced experiences I have had in some time. I called Scott to come take care of my back yard. It had turned into a swamp over the last few years, and we needed it all removed to start fresh. I called Scott to come give a quote. I was surprised to find out how affordable his service was, so we decided to ahead. The job ended up going over quote, but Scott communicated with me all the way, and we only went over quote because after we started it was apparent that the dig out needed to go deeper then originally planned. Scott was very accommodating and professional. His team got the job done very quickly, and they are very good operators. I was a bit worried they might bump the house, or something, but never once did they touch anything despite digging right up against the house and garden shed. Fantastic! I will be calling him back to do the rest of the property later!

Mitchell came out and broke up a cement retaining wall with rebar that I couldn’t break up with a jack hammer. He was on time, very professional and very very skilled with his machine. I would highly recommend Scott’s Mini Excavation & Breaking.

I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful this company is. They worked with us this spring to remove our pool. They are friendly. They are helpful. They return calls promptly! They helped us through Richmond city bylaws. If anybody doesn’t know how hard it is to deal with Richmond city bylaws, just ask me, I don’t think they have issued many permits to remove pools. Mitch and his dad Scott are very professional and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any project you are considerIng. They will be our only choice for our next project!

Scott demolished my wood/composite patio and concrete pathway, located in a very tight area and also surrounded by two septic tanks. He did a fantastic job. Site was left nicely levelled and clear of debris. Everything was done on time and within budget. I highly recommend this company for any demolishing or excavation work.

This five star review is not one bit exaggerated. Scott and his son Mitch went above and beyond through the process of building us a 60 foot by 5 foot retaining wall. From bringing the proper ideas to the table, sourcing out gorgeous large natural rock, hand picking and delivering them and then breaking ground and turning a devastated yard into a master piece with great coordination and professionalism. Every bit of this job went very smooth, time efficient, and the final product is immaculate. Working with Scott was a great experience as he really works with the homeowner and creates a friendly environment. To top this all off I would have to say the price was more then just competitive. Great work. Highly recommend.

Decommissioned our swimming pool was a daunting process as access was very tight. Scott’s problem solving won the day and we are pleased with the result. Scott was very easy to work with and willing to go out of his way. His estimate of how long the project would take was on the money, and his was by far the lowest priced quote for the contract. We can highly recommend him.
